Department of Computer Science network, consists of two basic nets: wired (LAN), and wireless network. There is also a virtual network (VPN), which can be used to give access to remote users. Network of Computer Science Department like any other network consists of passive and energetic equipment. This structure is “invisible” to users but it is the base of how all systems and subsystems of computing units operate. This structure makes the use of computing units easier. The net would not exist without using that structure.

Passive equipment contains:

• wired systems interconnection
• necessary ports on users rooms

Energetic equipment contains:

• switches units
• routers units
• wireless access points
