Digital Lab of the Department of Computer Science is located at room 101 (1st floor, wing A, of building FST01).This lab is equipped with 31 LINUX workstations which are used for teaching and research purposes and digital equipment. The lab can only be used by Computer Science department students and staff. The workstations are running latest release of Rocky Linux, and a large number of UNIX/LINUX applications. As well as other applications which can be used as an alternative to Windows operating system.

Domain name of lab is: in.cs.ucy.ac.cy. The available hostnames are: 101ws1, 101ws2, …etc..to 101ws31. (lab name:101)-(workstation)-(number 1 to 31)
To access 101ws1 workstation, you must use VPN and then use the fully qualified host name like is: 101ws1.in.cs.ucy.ac.cy.
Note that all workstations operate the same way and they have the same software installed on them. The use of usernames and passwords is personal. You CAN NOT “lend” your passwords to anybody else for any reason. Passwords “lending” is a disciplinary offense and it will be punished.

Applications
Installation of applications can be done only by IT support team. No one else is allowed to install any application on the PCs of laboratory.
